This 1983 13’ Sport is in wonderful original condition and was acquired from its original owner in South Hill, VA, where it had been stored in an airplane hangar since 1998, unused. The boat was exclusively used on Lake Gaston in North Carolina and has never been in saltwater. It was never kept in the water overnight and was always trailered and stored inside. The mahogany has never been refinished, and the hull is in excellent condition. This boat has nearly every factory option available in 1983, including the rare wraparound stainless side railing with mahogany aft thwart seat backrest, custom full cushion set for both thwart seats, aft seat backrest and bow area, Boston Whaler battery box, and bow and stern navigation lights. A custom canvas mooring cover is also included.
The original 1983 35hp 2-cylinder Johnson outboard was replaced in 1995 with a 1989 Yamaha 40hp 3-cylinder electric start/choke, which provides more power. The motor has been fully serviced and is in excellent running and cosmetic condition. The Yamaha triple cylinder 40s are known for their reliability and high power-to-weight ratio, making them highly desirable for the classic 13’ hull. The original Cox trailer is also in excellent condition.
This is a rare example of a low-hour, highly optioned, original freshwater Sport, ready to be enjoyed by the next owner.
